The Camden Listening & Counselling Centre (CLCC)

HFCT was pleased to award a grant over three years to Camden Listening & Counselling Centre which provides free crisis listening and low cost counselling to anyone in need.

CLCC

CLCC has over 25 years’ experience in providing face to face counselling in central London. The Centre is run by a small part-time team supported by volunteer counsellors and in 2021 made over 2,000 hours of counselling available.

Services

CLCC offers a range of services, including:

- Crisis Listening providing an immediate confidential meeting with a counsellor for anyone in emotional distress or needing to off-load a problem. The Centre has an open door policy.

- Counselling offers the chance to talk to a counsellor one-to-one, in confidence, in a safe environment. Typically provided weekly for 12 sessions.

- SHASPI the Self Harm, Addictions and Suicide Prevention Intervention (SHASPI) project was launched in 2003 in reaction to the issues being treated at the Centre and is available throughout the standard opening hours of the centre.
