HFCT was pleased to award a grant over three years to The 3H Foundation which helps people with disabilities and carers have a period of respite.

The 3H Foundation

The 3H Foundation has over 45 years’ experience in helping people with disabilities and their carers. The Foundation is run by a small team and in 2021 supported over 1,100 people.

Activities include an adviser service, one stop clinic, family support work, buddy scheme, residential breaks, education advice, youth clubs, newsletter, website, training and work experience opportunities.

Services

The 3H Foundation offers a range of services, including:

- Grants programme assisting families on a low income who have a family member with disabilities, to organise their own UK holiday.
- Carers programme enabling carers to spend a spa day out around the country, also provides alternative forms of respite to carers who are unable to take time away from their cared for.
- Group holidays subsidised for people with disabilities. The activity holidays may include Abseiling, Climbing, Canoeing, Horse Riding, Sailing and Zip Wiring. 3H organises suitable accommodation, transport and activities.
- TeensPLUS enabling existing organisations to continue their good work supporting teenagers who may be socially isolated due to their disability or their caring duties. 3H provides opportunities for those aged 13 – 25 with disabilities to try new activities through home-based challenges.
